I started this blog back in 2007. We had just started using WordPress at my employer and this site was my opportunity to get to know the platform better. It’s hard to believe that nearly 9 years have passed since that time.
Back then, I didn’t really have a clear direction for this blog and honestly, I still don’t. I just wanted an outlet.
I wanted a place to share solutions to problems I was encountering. A place to share things I was curious about.
Somewhere along the line, self doubt began to take over. I could no longer write a post without worrying about how people would perceive me. I’ve even been putting off this post because I felt I needed to word it just right. Word it just right?
This is my blog. I paid for the domain name and I pay for the web hosting. I’m taking permission to say what I want to say.
I’m going to make an intentional effort to replace opinions with curiosity. Curiosity is what drove me in the first place. It still drives me, I’ve just kept it locked within.
I want a mission statement for this site. Something to look to when I feel I’m losing my way. Unfortunately, I don’t have that quite yet.
What I do have are a few desires for this blog.
- I want to share what I’m learning.
- I want to help others.
- I want to make.
It’s time to publish. Hello, again, World!
